Detectives from the Yorktown Police Department received a call earlier this month asking to investigate an alleged assault that took place at Murphy’s on Kear Street.
Police said that the investigation determined that Yorktown resident Kevin Velasquez, 28, allegedly struck his victim in the head with a glass bottle, leaving him with a physical injury that required treatment.
Velasquez was located by police on Commerce Street in Yorktown Heights on Thursday morning and was arrested. He was charged with second-degree assault, a felony. Velasquez is currently being held at the Yorktown Police Department pending arraignment.
